Slogan tees, a fashion staple, something I have so many of my cupboard is bursting with them. Slogan tees can be used in so many ways to make a statement, recently we saw a rise in feminist quotes on T-Shirts and "girl power" written on nearly every tee on the high street. In 2018 the Fashion and Textiles opened an exhibition about the history of t-shirts , I know what you're all thinking how boring (eye roll) my thoughts exactly but this fashion staple actually has a very interesting and political history. As “The T-shirt is often noted for being unisex”(Fashion and Textile Museum 2018) it's actually society that genders the T-shirt with its slogans and grapic tees, but I won't bore you with that (another story for another day). If you are that interested in the unisex and gender side of things I recommend reading my dissertation, it's all about gender stereotypes. What I am going to talk to you about is this new trend that I have been seeing everywhere and I am loving it,. This spring in nearly every high street shop i go in I have been seeing these positive messages on slogan tees and if you're reading this you probably already know that Good Vibes is all about positivity and honestly we want them all. We hope this is a trend that is here to stay because the world needs as much positivity as we can give it. The slogan tee brand we love the most are "Ditch the label"

an anti bullying charity, supporting equality for everyone. The reason we love them, apart from the fact that they support equal rights,is that their T-shirts are all uni-sex but what I really like about this brand is that you can select whether you want to see the shirt on a male model or female model. I think this is great as you can see the gender you associate yourself with wearing the tee, it also stops the whole oh but a girls wearing that, I don't want to wear a girls top. Another brand we are loving is Yana (you are no alone) empowering people to live better, with mental health problems and 10% of every purchase goes to Mind charity. Last but certainly not least "Smith Webb" , I recently purchase a tee from them that says "overthinking everything", very relatable for me. So what's so great about Smith Webb ? well each design supports a different mental health or anti bullying charity, but that's not the only great thing about them, they also use organic and certified fair wear, so all their tops are made from ethical material and they print them, themselves in the UK. And yes there are high street brands that are doing slogan tees with positive messages on them, but the money doesn't usually go to charities.
