Marketing & Branding Manager 

Led the rebranding, developing a new brand logo, font, colour scheme and website, to give the brand a fresh and consistent look. Managed their social media profiles by creating graphics and grew their Instagram following from 200 to 450, developing a social media strategy.

When starting this project, I looked into the current branding, spoke to the founder to get an idea of their target audience, brands that they felt had good branding and what their brand ethos is.

 

Once I had done some initial research I started putting together some mock ideas for rebranding, brainstorming content ideas.

Content ideas included; Culture club – Movies, TV shows, books, etc that the team are into, intro to the team, takeovers (Uncensored with Katie), a community Facebook group – for people who want to write for us, a way to get the juices flowing and discuss ideas and creating a monthly newsletter. 

To make the website more streamlined and easy to navigate I put the articles under a separate tab and made the home page simpler with the newest articles and podcasts available. On the header, I added links to their social media platforms.  Made the footer smaller and sleeker. Start using new brand colours and fonts.

Development of the sub-brand created for monthly Instagram takeovers Uncensored with Katie. This brand was talking about all things body & sexual positivity, I wanted to reflect the human body, I wanted to reflect this in the graphics by using various skin tones to represent inclusivity and diversity.

These are a few of my favourite Instagram posts, they were about things that I felt passionate about and enjoyed creating the most.

Alongside developing DGN's redesign I also developed a marketing strategy, focusing mainly on their Instagram, as that is the platform that their target audience uses the most. I  created new graphics, posted at the best times, reposted content from our followers, hashtags, used Instagram highlights and created covers for them, and used Instagram live instead of Youtube live.
